The Lorax

Most of you I hope have heard of Dr.Seuss, he is a very popular children's author. Most of his books are rhyming, and one of those is called The Lorax.  Also it has been made into a movie this year, 2012.

It starts off with a young boy walking to the end of a road. Of course the place is gloomy and bare, with no tree in sight. He finds an old tower and listen's to a old man's mysterious tale. The old man is called the Onceler, and honestly I'm not sure if he's even a man. The tale goes back to when the place was a field, and pond and a forest. Truffala trees grew, Barbaloot bears frolicked, and humming fish hummed. But then came the Once-Ler, he made a ThNeed, which everyone needs, and his industry grew; causing disaster and havoc. The Lorax steps in to try save nature but the Onceler doesn't listen and continues his business. In the end the last tree falls and the animals leave, and the sky filled with smog...The Lorax disappears leaving a pile of rubble with a plaque saying, "Unless"
"Unless someone like you...cares a whole awful lot...nothing is going to get better...It's not."
This story is amazing to explain how in the world unless we do something about nature, we can't fix it. (Global Warning, Trees, Air pollution)

Movie: It is simlar to the book, but catches your attention with a different story line. The young boy tries to win the affections of a girl by finding her a tree. The city they live in is plastic and "clean", with no trees, dirt or plants. He has an adventure listening to the Once-ler's story and saving the trees.

I loved them both! It's such a good moral and lesson... "Unless"
